2nd Cleaning Products and Diaper Drive on Saturday, January 30th

The Virginia Department of Health (VDH) has again asked for our help to meet the needs of the increased numbers in our community who continue to test positive for Covid-19 and are struggling through their isolation/quarantine. Food pantries, such as Cornerstones, continue to provide most food essentials, but there remains a big need for alcohol-based or bleach-based cleaning products and for baby diapers and baby wipes. Additionally, VDH is asking for gift cards to Target, Walmart or any local grocery store.

In response to this ongoing need, our Family of Man Council of the Knights of Columbus will be conducting a 2nd Cleaning Products & Diaper drive for VDH on Saturday, January 30, 2021. To participate, please send an email to kofccharitydrive@kofc7566.us to advise of your willingness to donate and leave your cleaning products and/or diaper/baby wipes donation on the front porch of your house by 9:00 AM on Saturday, January 30th. A member of the Knights will pick up your donation between 9:00 and 11:00 AM and deliver it to the VDH office in Reston. If you would prefer to drop off a donation, we will have a labeled bin at St. John Neumann in the hallway between the Narthex and the McCarthy-Brown Auditorium. Gift card donations can be dropped off at the Parish Office during business hours and both will be accepted during the weeks of January 25-29 and February 1-5.

According to VDH, the alcohol-based or bleach-based cleaners can be either wipes or spray bottles, but spray bottles should be 32 ounces or less. Diapers are particularly needed in sizes 4-7.
