American Red Cross Blood Drive A Success

The Knights of Columbus Family of Man Council has been hosting local blood drives with the American Red Cross for many years. These periodic events conducted at St. John Neumann on a Saturday and supported by local parishioners and Brother Knights is an important contribution to the local community and helps promote a worthy cause that help save millions of lives each year.

On Saturday, August 27th, Brother Knights John Moran, Chris Gallagher, Mike Poland and Eddie Byrne were present throughout the event assisting the American Red Cross in welcoming, registering and assisting local parishioners donate blood.

This event was so successful that at the end of the day, the American Red Cross received 36 units of blood, the highest amount ever received at a Knight’s hosted blood drive at St. John Neumann. It should be noted that six donors were able to give a double cell donations which equated to 12 units, a truly magnificent donation.

The level of participation by donors was impressive with all allocated time slots being used to the point where donors had to be turned away.

The next Knight hosted blood drive at St. John Neumann will be conducted on Saturday, December 10th from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM. More information will be provided towards the date of this event.
