Family of Man Council Receives Council Star Award for 2015 – 2016 Fraternal Year from the Knights of Columbus

On November 22, 2016 during the monthly social meeting of the Family of Man Council, the current District Deputy, Phil Bayer and past District Deputy, Bill Cinnamond of the Knights of Columbus presented Past Grand Knight Bill McInerney, and Past Deputy Grand Knight and Program Director, Steve Saiget the official Star Council Award plaque awarded to the Family of Man Council for outstanding achievement during the 2015 – 2016 Fraternal Year.

The Virginia State Council announced last June that out of 146 councils within the state, Family of Man Council #7566 is one of only 34 councils to have achieved Star Council status. The Star Council Award recognizes outstanding achievement in membership, insurance and service program activities. To be eligible to earn the Star Council Award, a council must qualify for the Father McGivney, Founder's, and Columbian awards, based on major programs involving Church, community, council, family, culture of life, and youth.
