It is with great pleasure the Family of Man Council announces the Wayne Weeks family as Family of the Month for August 2018.
Wayne and his family have a long history with the Knights of Columbus.  Wayne’s father and uncle were both Knights and his wife's godfather is a Past Grand Knight.  Wayne joined the Order in 1996.

To Bury the Dead

To Bury the Dead is a Work of Mercy and Patriotism is a Principle of our Order. On September 6th, Brother Tom Carter and Bob Balog, both Vietnam War Veterans, attended the re-interment of two Union soldiers at Arlington National Cemetery. These two soldiers were killed in August 1862 during the Second Battle of Manassas and buried in a shallow grave that was discovered in 2014. Their remains are the first to be buried in the new section of the Cemetery near where interment of Union dead began in 1864.

August Social

The Family of Man Council #7566 held their monthly social on August 21st in the SJN Auditorium. More than 30 Brothers attended this dinner and enjoyed a special dinner of Baked chicken, Spicy Noodle Salad, Bruschetta and Mohito Watermelon for dessert. Many thanks to Brother Louis Wise for taking the lead as our chef for the evening and to all the Knights who helped with the cooking and clean up! We particularly enjoyed the company of our three special guests—Father Joe, Father Dick and Father Bob. We sincerely appreciate them taking time out of their day to join us for the evening.
