Four new Knights join the Council!

On August 14th, four new Brothers joined the Family of Man Council #7566 as First Degree Knights. Brothers Philip Clayton, Timothy Lepsch, Charles Magrum and Mark Paes, nominated by Grand Knight SK Chris Gallagher and Membership Chairman Mike Poland, participated in the ceremony in the St. John Neumann chapel. District Deputy Tom Yehle joined in the ceremony. Many thanks to Deputy Grand Knight Kevin Kramp and all of the FOM Knights for arranging the outstanding social to welcome our new brothers.

Council Installation for 2018-2019 Fraternal Year

The Family of Man Council held the Officer Installation on July 17th to pass the baton from Year-3 Trustee, SK Robert J. Balog to SK Chris Gallagher. Following the installation ceremony, the Family of Man Council hosted an Appreciation Dinner for our Immediate PGK Robert J. Balog. Following the blessing by Council Chaplain Father Don Heet, OSFS, Brother John Geraerdts led the Council in serving an outstanding gourmet dinner for the Council and their guests, including the many supportive wives.

Knights on Bikes for July

On Saturday, July 21st, the Knights enjoyed a pleasant day in the first “Knights on Bikes” event of the new Fraternal Year. Although there was a light drizzle on Saturday, a few of our hearty Brothers enjoyed biking along the Washington and Old Dominion Bike Trail to visit a few of the microbreweries in Sterling and Ashburn.

Knights Host Veterans Visit to DC

As part of the National Honor Flight Program, Knights from the Family of Man Council assisted WW2 and Korean War Veterans who visited DC on Wednesday, July 11th. Over 100 men and women from the Chicago area who had served in the Military toured the Service memorials that day. Each was accompanied by a Guardian, including Brothers Bob Balog, Grant Buehrig, and Joe Skowronski, throughout the day.

Knight of the Month Brother Andrew Eberly

The Family of Man Council #7566 selected Brother Andrew Eberly as Knight of the Month. Brother Andrew became a Knight in November of 2017 and a Second Degree in April of 2018.
Brother Andrew is active in the St. John Neumann youth ministry program. He is an effective recruiter and organizer of the teen volunteers that assist in the Knights of Columbus pancake breakfasts the first Sunday of every month.
