Steven and Antoinette Saiget have been selected as the Family of Man Council’s Family of the Month for February 2017. Steven was introduced to St. John Neumann Church through his son, Trent, and the Agape Work Camp program in 2010 where he worked with kids from various parishes through 2012. He was confirmed at St. John Neumann in 2014 and became a member of the Council that same year. Steven has served at the Council’s Deputy Grand Knight, and currently is its Grand Knight.
The Claman Family have been selected as the Council's Family of the Month for January. The Clamans have been members of the St. John Neumann Parish for eleven years. John joined the Knights in 2011, is a member of the Fourth Degree, and has served in various Council leadership positions to include Grand Knight.
Four Members of the Family of Man Council joined with 100 of their fellow Virginia Knights to act as marshals during the 44th annual March for Life on January 27, 2017. The Knights worked with March organizers to manage and direct the thousands of attendees, provided information to marchers, and assisted local and Federal law enforcement with crowd control. Brothers Bob Balog, Bill McInerney, John Moran and John White served as marshals.
On January 28, 2107, three members of the Family of Man Council were awarded their Knighthood Degrees from the Knights of Columbus.
During a ceremony conducted at St. Leo the Great Parish in Fairfax, VA, 60 Knights from several Knights of Columbus Councils in the Northern Virginia area received Knighthood Degrees which represents the principle of fraternity where the good works of individual Knights, who gave more than 73.5 million service hours in 2015, illustrates how Catholics serve each other in fraternity and mercy.
The Knights of Columbus will host their monthly Charity Fundraising Breakfast on Sunday, February 5, 2017, from 8:30 to 11:00am in the Brown-McCarthy Auditorium of St John Neumann Parish. The beneficiary is the Gabriel Project in the Arlington Diocese.
