In collaboration with the Office of Outreach and the Social Justice Ministry, Worthy Knights from our Council assisted in hosting an evening on October 28th in the Brown-McCarthy Auditorium, which brought awareness of the prevalence of human and teen sex trafficking within the Northern Virginia region, including the Reston and Herndon communities.
On Saturday, October 25, 2015, our Brother Stephen Lillis was exemplified as our Council's newest Third Degree member at St. Timothy's in Chantilly, VA. Overseeing the proceedings was our Worthy District 17 Deputy Bill Cinnamond where 32 other brothers from around the Northern Virginia area received their Third Degree. Pictured with Steve is Deputy Grand Knight Steve Saiget who sponsored and accompanied Steve for this significant event.
On Saturday, September 19th, some of our Worthy Brothers from our Family of Man Council donated their free time to serve dinner to residents and members of the local Reston community at Cornerstones, a nonprofit organization that promotes self-sufficiency by providing support and advocacy for those in need of food, shelter, affordable housing, quality childcare, and other human services.
Through the leadership of our then Grand Knight David Craven, the members of the Family of Man Council raised funds for our home parish St John Neumann, Reston, VA, to have a flagpole. Members raised over $3,000 for the purchase and installation of the new flagpole which is located near the entrance to the worship area of the church.
