The Geraerdts Family has been selected as the Knights of Columbus, Council 7566, Family of the Month. John and his wife, Jean, moved to Reston in 1996 and joined our parish shortly thereafter. John has been a faithful Knight since 1997. He has enjoyed the camaraderie of the Knights, particularly his work with the “Kitchen Crew,” throughout the years. Recently, he took the lead in all aspects of the Knights Appreciation Dinner that celebrated the Council’s achievements for the 2016-2017 Fraternal Year.
Family of the Month
The Saiget Family was selected at the Virginia State Family of the Month for February 2017 and State Deputy presented a certificate in recognition of this at the Appreciation Dinner on July 18th. SK Steve Saiget led a Council initiative for the Brothers to support the Domestic Church by taking on greater individual and Council roles during the Hypothermia Shelter hosted by SJN in January. Knights were encouraged to volunteer for the many positions required to carry out this week-long effort and the Council prepared and served a dinner to the many guests who come to the shelter.
The Claman Family have been selected as the Council's Family of the Month for January. The Clamans have been members of the St. John Neumann Parish for eleven years. John joined the Knights in 2011, is a member of the Fourth Degree, and has served in various Council leadership positions to include Grand Knight.
Ed and Claire Walsh have been selected as the Council's Family of the Month for December because of their dedicated service to various activities and programs at St. John Neumann.
