Keith George’s family became parishioners at Saint John Neumann in 2002, and Keith became a Knight and joined the Family of Man Council 7566 in 2006. Our Council wants to recognize the George family’s recent thoughtful and generous act of kindness that allowed our Brother Knights to share a wonderful meal for our June virtual social meeting, after months of forced separation due to COVID-19. They prepared a delicious meal of smoked ribs and sides, and ran curb side pick up in our parish parking lot for more than 40 of our Brother Knights and our Chaplain.
Family of the Month
The Knights of Columbus Family of Man Council is proud to announce that the Bob Abbot family is the Family of the Month for January 2019.
Bob has been a Knight since March 2017. He and his wife Joanne were members of SJN parish when it was first established but moved to St. Joseph’s for a while when their three children were in school there. They returned to SJN in 1994 and have been parishioners ever since.
It is with great pleasure the Family of Man Council announces the Mark Emery family as Family of the Month for October 2018.
The Emery family, Mark, Jeff, Barbara, Patrick and Kara began to attend SJN in 1991. Soon thereafter Mark became a Knight in 1992. Jeff followed in his proud dad’s footsteps and became a Knight in 2013.
The Geraerdts Family has been selected as the Knights of Columbus, Council 7566, Family of the Month. John and his wife, Jean, moved to Reston in 1996 and joined our parish shortly thereafter. John has been a faithful Knight since 1997. He has enjoyed the camaraderie of the Knights, particularly his work with the “Kitchen Crew,” throughout the years. Recently, he took the lead in all aspects of the Knights Appreciation Dinner that celebrated the Council’s achievements for the 2016-2017 Fraternal Year.
The Saiget Family was selected at the Virginia State Family of the Month for February 2017 and State Deputy presented a certificate in recognition of this at the Appreciation Dinner on July 18th. SK Steve Saiget led a Council initiative for the Brothers to support the Domestic Church by taking on greater individual and Council roles during the Hypothermia Shelter hosted by SJN in January. Knights were encouraged to volunteer for the many positions required to carry out this week-long effort and the Council prepared and served a dinner to the many guests who come to the shelter.
