Council's Recent Projects Results

Charity is at the heart of our work and our faith as Knights of Columbus. Over the past few weeks, with the support and generosity of our fellow parishioners and the community at large, the Family of Man has successfully completed several projects that will positively impact our society.

American Wheelchair Mission logoThe American Wheelchair Mission (https://amwheelchair.org) is a non-profit organization whose goal is to deliver brand new, free wheelchairs and mobility aids to physically disabled children, teens, and adults worldwide without mobility or the means to acquire a wheelchair. Since 2003, the Knights of Columbus has funded the delivery of tens of thousands of wheelchairs worldwide and here at home by the American Wheelchair Mission. In particular, thousands of veterans and their families across the United States in need of wheelchairs have received new mobility through the Knight’s efforts. Recently the Council raised $1,050 for the American Wheelchair Mission, which will purchase seven new wheelchairs.

KOVAR LogoKOVAR (https://kovarva.org) is a Virginia Knights of Columbus charity established to provide financial assistance through grants and home loans to tax-exempt organizations providing training and assistance to citizens with intellectual disabilities. The Council’s KOVAR drive over the weekend of May 14 and 15 raised $3,200.

ARC Blood Services logo  The Council’s quarterly blood drive in June resulted in 38 units of blood and blood products collected. According to Red Cross Blood Services, 98 potential lives can be saved based on those donations.

Thank you to everyone who assisted the Council in these projects, which will make and have made a difference.
