PGK John Moran Receives the Star Council Award Plaque from District Deputy Bill McInerney

The Family of Man Council of the Knights of Columbus received the Star Council Award for the fraternal year 2021-2022. District Deputy Bill McInerney presented the award plaque to Past Grand Knight John Moran during the council’s business meeting on January 2, 2023.

The Star Council Award recognizes outstanding achievement in membership, insurance, programming, and overall operations. Earning a Star Award is the marker of a high preforming Knights of Columbus unit and the goal to which every council, district, and assembly strives. To achieve the Star Council Award, a council must earn the Father McGivney, Founders’, and Columbian Awards.

The Father McGivney Award recognizes excellence in a council’s membership growth. The Founders’ Award recognizes excellence in the promotion of the Order’s insurance and fraternal benefits. Finally, the Columbian Award recognizes excellence in a council’s programming and charitable outreach. To earn this award the council must conduct and report programs in each of the four program categories (Faith, Family, Community, and Life).
