Family of Man Council Selects Emery Family as Council Family of the Month

The Family of Man Council 7566 honors the memory of Brother Mark Emery and his family in condolence of his passing on to his heavenly reward.

Mark was a member of the Council for many years and had a significant and lasting impact on the council and our parish.  He was instrumental in helping to make our council a welcoming and, more importantly, engaging community for brothers with special needs.  He provided American Sign Language (ASL) translation at and transportation to and from business meetings to aid our special needs brothers.  He was deeply involved in Special Olympics, enabling brother knights and others to experience the joy and camaraderie of competition.  Along with Barbara, his wife of 45 years, he was an active member of the parish Kairos Prison Ministry, which in his own words, “brings the Spirit of the Lord to men (and women) without much hope.”  Mark was one of the best of us and has left us too early.  He was supported in life and is survived by Barb, his children - our Council Brother Jeff, Patrick, and Kara, and three grandchildren - Isla, Fiona, and Lydia.

In memory of his outstanding contributions to life as a Catholic gentleman of distinction, we name Brother Mark Emery and his family the Family of Man Council Family of the Month for April 2023.
