Leo and Dottie Marier Named Family of Man Council Family of the Month

The Marier Family of the St John Neumann Catholic Church in Reston, Va., has been recognized as the July 2022 Family of the Month by Knights of Columbus Council 7566. The St John Neumann parish and the Knights of Columbus Family of Man Council 7566 applaud the Marier family on their accomplishment and the strong example they set for all families in our community!

The Knights of Columbus Family of the Month Program promotes and supports the development of strong and vibrant families by recognizing the good work being done every day in our neighbors' homes. Recognized families outwardly exhibit strong ties of love and faith, exemplifying Catholic family values and making meaningful contributions to their parish and the larger community.

In this nomination, we recognize the efforts of many in the form of one Brother Knight and his wife who have helped to lead and focus our council and community.

Leo Marier is the Life Committee Chair for Council 7566. The historic reversal of Roe v Wade was a 50-year struggle that results not from just the judgments of six Justices but more from the quiet work and prayers of millions of those who believe and promote the culture of life.

Our council and parish have been blessed over many years through the life-affirming efforts of Leo and Dottie. As our culture of life chair and liaison to the parish pro-life committee, Leo and Dottie have coordinated activities, kept the council informed, and involved across novena, marches, and communications from church leaders. They are active in our parish and our community. They have raised four children and have eight grandchildren.

Leo and Dottie's dedication to life in all its stages exemplifies the best of what it means to live our faith and is deserving of recognition as the Council's Family of the Month.
