Family of Man Council Holds Charity Breakfast in Support of Gabriel House, Inc.

The Family of Man Council 7566 of the Knights of Columbus held their monthly charity breakfast on December 4, 2022, at the St John Neumann parish auditorium. The breakfast raised funds for Gabriel Homes, Inc. (www.gabrielhomes.org), a private nonprofit organization promoting independence through residential placement, training, and community integration for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in Reston and Herndon, Virginia. Gabriel Homes Executive Director Lynn Davis spoke to the breakfast attendees, thanking them for their support.

FOM Council Hosts Blood Drive on Dec 3, 2022

The Knights of Columbus Family of Man Council’s quarterly Red Cross Blood Drive at Saint John Neumann, Reston, VA, will be on Saturday, December 3, 2022, from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM in the Brown-McCarthy Auditorium. This time of year, seasonal illness and winter weather often affect blood drives across the country. So if you’re feeling healthy and well, your blood donation is needed now to help meet the needs of hospital patients this holiday season.

Knights of Columbus Host Pro-Life Charity Breakfast on January 8, 2023

The Family of Man Council of the Knights of Columbus will host our first Charity Breakfast of 2023 on Sunday, January 8, 2023. Breakfast will be served in the Brown-McCarthy Auditorium at St John Neumann Parish after the 7:30 AM Mass until the beginning of the 11:30 AM Mass.

Traditionally we dedicate the January proceeds from your Free Will breakfast donations to Pro-Life organizations. Our designated charity for January is A Best Choice Mobile Ultrasound and Pregnancy Resource Center.

November Charity Breakfast to Sponsor SJN Young Adults Attending the 2023 World Youth Day

Family of Man Council of the Knights of Columbus will hold our next Charity Breakfast on November 6, 2022, between the end of the 7:30 AM Mass and the start of the 11:30 AM Mass. The Knights are dedicating the proceeds from your at-will offerings to assist SJN young adults in attending the 2023 World Youth Day this summer in Lisbon, Portugal, as members of the Arlington Diocese’s Pilgrimage.

Family of Man Council Raises Funds in Support of the Paul Stefan Foundation

On Oct. 2, 2022, the Family of Man Council of the Knights of Columbus held our monthly charity breakfast at the parish hall at St John Neumann in Reston, VA, and raised over $2,200 for the Paul Stefan Foundation (https://www.paulstefanhome.org), a pro-life support program for women in crisis pregnancies. The Foundation serves the greater Fredericksburg and Northern Virginia regions.

Family of Man Council Undertakes Home Improvements for Gabriel House, Inc.

On Saturday, September 17th, a crew of nine Knights provided exterior and interior clean up and repairs at a Gabriel Homes house that is also home to two of our Brother Knights. The team trimmed and pruned shrubs, collected and bagged leaves, repaired a gate lock on the backyard fence, replaced a storm door closer, repaired a cabinet shelf, dismantled and removed an old bed frame and assembled a new one, removed old wall decorations and hung pictures in their place and wall-mounted and programmed for operation a new living room TV.

Family of Man Council to Sponsor Pilgrim Icon in Honor of St. Joseph

 

An icon of St. Joseph will be the centerpiece of a devotional display in the Mary Chapel of St John Neumann Parish, Reston, Va., from Monday, September 19 through Sunday, September 26, 2022. 

Flowing from the Year of St. Joseph declared by Pope Francis in 2021, and inspired by his apostolic letter Patris Corde, the display of the icon is sponsored by the Family of Man Council 7566 of the Knights of Columbus to honor St. Joseph and pray for his intercession in preserving, cultivating and passing on the Catholic faith to future generations.

Family of Man Council Hosting Quarterly Blood Drive on September 3, 2022

The Family of Man Council of the Knights of Columbus will host our quarterly blood drive with the American Red Cross on Saturday, September 3, 2022, from 8 AM to 2 PM at the Saint John Neumann Parish Center Auditorum, at 11900 Lawyers Road, Reston, VA.

The Knights are committed to strengthening our community and helping meet hospital and patient needs through blood donations. This blood drive is our way of giving our members, fellow parishioners, and neighbors an opportunity to help save lives.

Leo and Dottie Marier Named Family of Man Council Family of the Month

The Marier Family of the St John Neumann Catholic Church in Reston, Va., has been recognized as the July 2022 Family of the Month by Knights of Columbus Council 7566. The St John Neumann parish and the Knights of Columbus Family of Man Council 7566 applaud the Marier family on their accomplishment and the strong example they set for all families in our community!
